Animal Control
“The Fairfax Animal Control Officer…is responsible for handling dog issues within the town.

“…The Town does not have ordinances or personnel to address other domesticated animals. For all other animals, issues such as neglect, abuse, or injury should be related to the police.

“For wild animal issues, [contact] the Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife.”

Fairfax Fire Department
“The Town of Fairfax has a fire department consisting of a full-time fire chief and an on-call staff. The Department has two (2) engines, two (2) tankers, a ladder truck, an utility truck, and an ATV operating out of the James Field Fairfax Fire Station at 15 Goodall Street.”

Fairfax Rescue
The Town’s contracted Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider.

Town Constable
“The Town Constable is a non-law enforcement officer position appointed by the Selectboard. …In Fairfax, the constable has the power to serve civil process, assist health officers in their duties, destroy unlicensed animals, kill injured deer, and remove disorderly people from town meeting(s).”
