The Fairfax Community Library is governed by a Board of Trustees,
who are elected by town residents.

Trustees
As of March 2026, the Board is peopled by:
Barbara Murphy, Chair (term expires 2027)
Sarah Barnes, Secretary (term expires 2029)
Marti Sterin, Treasurer (term expires 2027)
Elizabeth Griffin (term expires 2028)
Amy Palmer (term expires 2029)
Representatives of the public and school library, as well as the Selectboard, comprise the Joint Board, which oversees areas of overlapping interests and policies.
Bylaws
The Library Trustee Bylaws govern the Trustees.
Meetings During the 2026 Calendar
Trustees’ meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday bimonthly, at 6:30 pm: January 15, March 19, May 21, July 16, September 17, November 19.
The Joint Board meets each April and October, on the 3rd Thursday, at 6:30 pm: April 16, and October 15.
Meetings are held at the Library or the Fairfax Town Offices. Contact the Library regarding exact date, time, and location for all meetings. Attend via Zoom using Meeting ID: 846 8852 8797.
