How It Works
Library of Things can be checked out for 1 week by adult patrons.
Each Thing has an Use Agreement to sign at the time of borrowing, specifying replacement costs should the Thing be irreparably damaged, lost, or stolen.
The Things Themselves
- Orion StarBlast 4.5” Telescope: Adapted for public use through the VT Astronomical Society’s Library Telescope Program, with sky guides, a manual and a headlamp with red bulbs to protect your night vision.
- STEAM Backpacks: STEAM and maker activity kits containing materials, instructions and books. Each backpack kit aligns with the National Science standards and are aimed at different grade levels.
- Amscope Microscope: Includes a set of 25 prepared slides and a cell phone mount for taking photos (BYO phone.)
- Snowshoes: We have many adult and child sizes that be checked out to enjoy during the winter months.
- C-Pen ReaderPen: Reads text aloud, stores text, and looks up and explains words.
- Chromebooks: HP Chromebook 11 portable computers with charging cable, Bluetooth mouse, and case.
- Games: Check out the wide variety of board games and activities for all ages.
- Jewelry Making Bead and Tool set: Comes with instruction booklet for your projects.
- Bloxels Starter Kit: Create your own video games with your smartphone or tablet (download a free App). Tutorial gives a good overview.
- Mother Goose What’s the Big Idea Kit: Recognizing Same and Different. A book and activity for a care giver and child to do together to support early literacy and math skills.
