EBooks and downloadable audio books

Click on the banner below to visit Listen Up Vermont for downloadable eBooks and Audio Books that you can access from anywhere. You can read or listen to digital books on your computer, tablet, eReader, smart phone, and many other portable devices. If you want help getting started, give the library a call to set up some time with a staff member.

The Fairfax Community Library subscribes to Overdrive Advantage which allows us to purchase extra copies of ebooks and additional titles that are available ONLY to Fairfax patrons. Once you are logged in with your Fairfax number you will automatically see these titels in the Listen Up Vermont collection.Listen Up VT Banner

Kindles

We have 2 Kindles that we loan out to patrons for 2 weeks. One is loaded with classic titles. We have a touch screen Kindle that you can borrow to use with downloadable ebooks or audio books from Listen Up Vermont. Also, we take requests for purchasing titles for the Kindle. Let us know if there is something you can't find and would like to read on the Kindle.

Passes

The library has passes for reduced or free entry into certain VT attractions. Patrons can borrow the passes for one day. Passes may be reserved up to one week in advance. There is no charge to borrow a pass. Passes are not available when the library is closed for the annual cleaning/maintenance week in August.
 See our list of passes.

Inter-Library Loan

If you would like to borrow a book the library does not own, let us know. We are able to borrow from libraries across the state through the Inter-library Loan Service. We can take your request over the phone or via email or stop by the library to fill out a form.

Home Delivery

The library offers delivery of books to current patrons in Fairfax and Fletcher who cannot get to the library due to illness, disability or recovery from surgery. Please call the library to enroll. A volunteer will pick up, deliver and return your books for you!
